This was a fun day event organised by Amersham Council to celebrate England's local history and culture . The Merrydowners were there to help promote the joys of Morris Dancing along with many other activities.
BBC One Show
On 5th October 2011 the Merrydowners appeared on a BBC TV current affairs programme, The One Show as part of a feature on Percy Granger and his popular tune 'English Country Garden' . The show featured Wil Ferell in his latest film 'Everything Must Go' and the Merrydowners ended the show by dancing to English Country Garden.

Yet again, something very different from our normal Morris events. This time we were asked to take part in a 'Pop video' .... not what you would call conventional Morris Dancing but it was fun.
The video was shot outside the Queens Head pub in Pinner and the song was 'Now Til 69 performed by The Short Wave Set.

This video is very different to anything we have been asked to undertake in the past but nonetheless as always the Merrydowners were up to the task. The production team were from BBC Persian TV and we helped demonstrate and discuss the tradition of Morris Dancing......as you can see language is no barrier
